'An inventory of favourite things', With the album released in spring 2009 and composed entirely by Seweryn Krajewski, Andrzej Piaseczny revealed a hitherto unknown, melancholic and mature face. But if you think that with "Come on, cuddle, forgive" you have got to know the singer inside out, you are very much mistaken...

"What's good", the seventh solo album in the oeuvre of Andrzej Piaseczny, is, on the one hand, a clear and successful continuation of "Spis rzeczy ulubionych" - if only due to Krajewski's unique, catchy and heartbreaking compositions. But it is also a record that is by all means surprising - never before have you heard Andrzej's voice in such a setting. Noble and raw at the same time, with an accompaniment that sounds worldly and garagey at the same time. In short, there has never been such an album on our market before.

Here, in search of sound sources, natural and analogue sound, Piaseczny wandered first to England and then to the United States. Specifically, to the Waterfront studio in Hudson, New York. There, he came under the care of composer and producer Henry Hirsch, best known for his work with Lenny Kravitz, but also Mick Jagger and Madonna. Henry not only took care of the proper sound of the material, but also entrusted the guest from distant Poland with his own songs and took a great interest in what Andrzej was singing about. "Henry turned out to be an exceptional person, a very normal guy. I brought him a package of CDs released on the occasion of the Chopin Year as a gift, and do you know that every day when we came to the studio we found Henry listening to Chopin? Plus the guitar that Kravitz recorded on, Lenny's gold records, stories about Tina Turner or Mick Jagger... It was like a movie," recalls the Polish artist of the recording session overseas.
However, no one here is pretending to be anyone, the Americans have given Andrzej Piaseczny's talent a new shine, but they have not remade him in their fashion, they have not tried to turn him into a singer from there. It is still The Voice Of Poland - one of the best we have...
